Two riding courses will be held at the farm and horse riding center Minniborgir in Grímsnes, South Iceland, on March 19-21, and April 8-10. Included in the course is horses and instructions, accommodation in cosy holiday cottages with hot tubs, internet access and full board during the course days. The course is suitable for beginners to advanced riders. The instructors are Hugrun Johannesdottir and Pall Holmarsson from Austurkot in the Floi area, South Iceland. They are both highly experienced and educated horse-riding instructors with years of experience in training, teaching and taming of horses. The number of participants is limited, so now is the time to grab the opportunity!
The arrangement will be like this:
Friday. Participants arrive at Minniborgir and orientate in the cottages. A light meal is served in the meeting-house at 19:00 hours. The group meets at 20:00 in the horse-stable to go through the course plan, see the facilities and be introduced to the horses. The tubs are waiting for those who want to ease in the hot water.
Saturday. Breakfast is served between 8:00 and 9:00. The course starts at 9:30. The horses are tried out and instructions are given from text until 12:30. Lunch is then enjoyed in the lunchroom of the stable. The course starts again at 13:00. Coffee and hot chocolate is ready for the participants, and of course for parents and families too. A delicious BBQ dinner is then served at Minniborgir between 19:00 and 20:00, and after that the hot tubs provide relaxation for the tired participants into the night.
Sunday. Breakfast between 8:00 and 9:00. The instructions start at 9:30 with a duration until around 16:00.
Included in the course: Accommodation for 2 nights from Friday to Sunday. Full board during the course, well tamed and manageable horses, riding instructions and verbal instructions from text.
The price is only 45,000 ISK per person. You can also rent a cottage at Minniborgir if your family, and children if applicable, wants to join in the course.
